In a traditional Christmas mode / Tradycyjnie swiatecznie

November was not very productive if it comes to my blogging. Otherwise, on my craft desk there's a lot going on. Projects that I started some time ago are finally being finished, some photos are waiting to be put in the empty spaces and new stuff is queuing up (and fingers are itching) on the side. But the priority now goes to my first round of workshops that start in January. I'm so happy yet so jittery about them! But before they start - still some more Xmas stuff to come. This time I used new Craft4You card kit and I have to admit - this is my favourite Christmas colour combination. I'm really traditional if it comes to this holiday - there has to be a green tree, red and gold baubles, brown gingerbreads and deep fried mushroom dumplings with beetroot soup - yep, that sounds like the perfect Christmas to me!

Blogowo listopad znajdowal sie gdzies w nizinach mojej produktywnosci. Na biurku jednak duzo sie dzieje - projekty dawno zaczete wreszcie zostaja wykonczone, brakujace zdjecia czekaja na wklejenie w odpowiednie miejsca, nowe materialy ustawiaja sie w kolejce do wykorzystania. Na pierwszym miejscu jest jednak pierwsza seria moich warsztatow, ktore rozpoczna sie w styczniu - przyznam sie, ze mam treme! Ale za nim do nich dojdzie - nastepna seria kartek swiatecznych opuscila warsztat, tym razem pod gilotyne poszedl najnowszy zestaw z Craft4You. Przyznam, ze jest to moje ulubione zestawienie kolorow zwiazanych z Bozym Narodzeniem. Pod tym wzgledem jestem tradycjonalistka - zielona choinka, czerwono-zlote ozdoby, brazowe pierniczki i smazone uszka z barszczem - to sa moje idealne Swieta.

I'm dreaming of a blue Christmas / Swieta na niebiesko

I made these cards in October, as a test drive before pre-Christmas madness and to use up all of last year's scraps of paper. Just like every year I found myself fighting and losing with a syndrome called "All the pretty papers and embellishments" - I just cannot walk by those yummy X-mas collections and I end up buying them all, trying to convince my guilty consience that thanks to them making cards will be so much simple and quick and that the amount of them will be enough to send even to the most distant of relatives. All that ends up usually with me trying to extend the number of hours in a day and failing miserably. This year I decided to challenge myself and first make cards using all of the leftover papers from last Christmas and then cut all the new ones and the rest of them to use up in January for X-mas albums. Results (or lack of them) soon ;)

Te kartki powstaly jeszcze w pazdzierniku, jako rozgrzewka przed swiateczna goraczka i sposob na wykorzystanie resztek papierow z zeszlego roku. Jak zwykle zachorowalam na syndrom "Pieknych papierow i dodatkow" - co roku nie moge oprzec sie nowym kolekcjom i wmawiajac sobie, ze dzieki nim wszystko zrobie szybko i w takiej ilosci, ze bede mogla wyslac kartki nawet do najbardziej odleglej rodziny - kupuje wszystko, a potem martwie sie, ze znow mi czasu nie starczy. Postawilam przed soba wyzwanie - najpierw robie kartki z resztek, a potem moge ruszyc nowosci, a w styczniu z tego co zostanie - wreszcie wykonac swiateczne albumy. Efekty (albo ich brak) wkrotce ;)

Last minute album

- Listen, how long would it take you to make one of your hen party albums?
- To give myself some time to think everything through - 1-2 days.
- How about two hours?

I think that was my biggest time challege. As I often mention, I'm the slow kind of crafter, I prefer to give myself some time to go away and back, re-think choice of embellishments and composition (I make it sound like it's some major technical project, didn't mean to). I really like the idea of hen party albums, so I agreed to this challenge. My craft factory started to work on the highest setting, flowers were flying in the air, dismissed ideas and scraps of paper were landing on the floor, rub ons were sicking not to the places where they should but I managed to finish before my deadline.

My life slowly is starting to work to schedule, that my last trip to Poland got me out of . I got a new job that I really enjoy, I do my everyday physiotherapy, together with Chris we're finishing re-doing the flat (the last chapter of the "Bathroom Nighmare" just ended) and I'm in the middle of Christmas cards frenzy. I got myself lots of wintery goodies, but I really don't know when I'll find lots of time to use them all ;)


- Sluchaj, ile zajeloby Ci zrobienie takiego albumu panienskiego?
- No tak na spokojnie to 1-2 dni.
- A dalabys rade w 2 godziny?

To chyba bylo jedno z moich najwiekszych wyzwan czasowych. Tak jak czesto wspominam, lubie pracowac wolniej, dajac sobie chwile na oddech i na "pomodlenie" sie na praca i kontemplacje ulozenia cwiekow. Ale lubie tez robic albumy panienskie i dlatego wyzwanie podjelam. Gilotyna poszla w ruch, skrawki papieru i odrzucone koncepcje ladowaly na podlodze, kwiatki wydlubywalam ze sloiczkow, a rub-onsy przyklejaly sie nie tam gdzie trzeba, ale udalo zmiescic mi sie w limicie czasowym - chyba jedna z niewielu takich prac ;)

Powoli ukladam sobie nowy plan zajec, niedawna wizyta w Gdansku troche wybila mnie z rytmu ;) Zaczelam nowa prace, przyzwyczajam sie do codziennej rehabilitacji, wspolnie z Krzysiem konczymy remont mieszkania (wlasnie zakonczylismy rozdzial pt. "Koszmar lazienkowy") i jestem w trakcie swiatecznego kartkowania. Materialow mam na jakas kosmiczna ilosc kartek, nie mam pojecia jak sie wyrobie czasowo ;)
